How do I load a custom tune to X4?
1. Using the provided USB cable, connect your device to your computer. (Allow roughly 30 seconds for the drivers to install)
2. Save your custom tunes from your “Dashboard” to your desktop. Your file will be labeled with your VIN number followed by a .sul
3. Open the “Device Updater” software.
4. Now select “Load Custom Tune File” from the Basic Operations menu then click on the “Locate Custom Tunes” button.
5. Select the desired tune from the list of tunes.
6. Your tune will appear under “Available Tunes” on the left window within the Updater. You will need to transfer it to the device by using the arrow button in the middle of the SCT Updater.
7. Press “Program” when ready to transfer the custom tune to the device.
8. Repeat steps 5-7 if you wish to load more than one custom tune file.
How do I update my X4 programmer?
There are 2 methods of updating your WiFi enabled device, manually using your Windows PC or via WiFi using your home internet connection. Both methods will require a good internet connection.
Using your Windows PC:
1. Make sure you have the SCT Updater Software installed and a good internet connection.
2. After downloading and installing the “Device Updater” software open the program.
3. Once updater is open on your desktop, plug in your X4 programmer using he supplied USB cable.
4.With the device plugged in select “Automatically Check for Updates” from the basic operations menu.
5. Your device should start to update on its own.
6. Update has completed when the “Device Updater” displays “Device is up to date!”.
Using via WiFi:
1. Power up your device using the supplied cables with either you OBD2 port on your vehicle or via the USB connection from your computer.
2. From the main menu on the X4 programmer, scroll down and select “Device Settings”.
3. Select WiFi and your device will start scanning for available WiFi connections.
4. Select your WiFi connection and enter your WiFi security password.
5. Once you have connected to your WiFi you can now select “Check for Updates” on the X4 device.
6. If there are updates available select “Continue”.
7. Your device will inform you once you have completed the update.
How can I read/clear a check engine light?
1. Connect your X4 device to your Camaro using the supplied OBD2 cable.
2. Once powered up, you will scroll down to “Vehicle Diagnostics” and press the center button to select.
3. Turn the key to the ON position but with out the engine running.
4. Use the Up or Down arrow to choose “Read” or “Clear” DTC Codes.
Read DTC: The device will automatically detect and display any codes that may be present. You will be able to read the definition of the code by scrolling and selecting the code being displayed. To go back to the list of DTC’s, highlight and select the back button.
Clear DTC: Select “Continue” and the device will display “Clear Codes Complete, Turn Key Off”. Your DTC codes have now been cleared. Select Exit, and Exit again to get back to the Main Menu.
